Radolfzell to Stein am Rhein
Situated in the beautiful countryside of the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland, and where the Rhine once again becomes a river, is the charming town of Stein-am-Rhein with its medieval centre. On the Rathausplatz there are the magnificent facades of well-preserved half-timbered houses. Look out for the medieval Monastery of St Georgen, the Lindwurm Museum, the Hohenklingen Castle built in 1225 and the 3rd century AD church dedicated to St John the Baptist, which is the oldest church in the canton of Schaffhausen.
From Stein-am-Rhein take a trip to the Rhine Falls (Rheinfall) Europe’s largest waterfalls, the thunderous waterfalls are a spectacular sight to see and hear.
