Area 47, Tyrol Austria
A lot has happened since the opening of the AREA 47 outdoor park at the entrance to the Ötztal valley five years ago. The offering and the visitor interest have continually increased. There is again something new for the summer – an action course 14 metres up, without a safety rope. A trainee will also be doing all the stuff that you don’t have any time to at home.
AREA 47 is a real success story. The outdoor park was opened in 2010 with a lake, giant slide, water jump, Flying Fox over the area, high ropes course, a few log cabins and several wooden tipis. In the first year, the Area 47 team were able to welcome 12,000 overnight stays of visitors. Since then, a wakeboard facility, a slackline course, trampolines, a river surfing wave machine on the River Inn, an off -road obstacle course and further accommodation options have been built. The result is that over 300 school classes have already visited AREA 47, along with television broadcasters from across the world, from China, Japan and the USA to name a few, to produce various programmes in the outdoor park. In 2014 there were as many as 40,000 overnight stays in the AREA 47 site alone. A further 20,000 overnight stays were made in the nearby surroundings.
Who ever said that you need a safety rope for a high ropes course?
Despite its successes, AREA 47 is not resting on its laurels. The concept of rest is barely understood here. This year there is a new high ropes course, a kind of action course, being built, 14 metres up and under cover in the off-road hall. You need to spring and make your way with your hands and scramble along and balance here – without a safety rope. Those who slip off, can’t go any further or miscalculate will fall – into a safety net. There is a guaranteed adrenaline rush!
A trainee for all extreme cases
Sheer adrenaline is also in store for the extreme trainee who is going to provide their services to AREA 47 in the summer. Facebook fans have the chance to set the trainee tasks to complete in AREA 47 – climbing through the high ropes course, taking the cross buggy through the off -road hall, going down the freefall slide, balancing on the slackline and so forth. The trainee wi ll try to complete these tasks every day like an absolute natural – and film themselves in the process, of course. At the end of each day, the video will be uploaded as proof that the extreme trainee has really completed it all. Fans just need to set a task on www.area47.at and state a reason why they are not able to do it themselves – the trainee will then get going on their behalf. By the way, it’s not yet known who the trainee will be. Anyone can apply.
