Galtür is a particularly family-friendly, snow-assured ski area. Silvapark provides the best conditions for cross-country skiing, snowboarding and skiing.
Galtür is located in the heart of the Silvretta group, surrounded by countless three-thousand metre mountains. This, the highest lying ski area in Tyrol’s Paznaun region, inspires skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiers with its high level of snow-assuredness from the start of December, right through to the end of April. The superb pistes, slopes and snow parks are famous far beyond Austria.
The ski area of Galtür in Tyrol has sported a new look since winter 2007/08. It was then that Silvapark, which is the only park of its kind in Europe, was re-designed. Fantastic ski pistes for Alpine skiers and race snowboarders, thrilling parks for freestyle snowboarders and freeskiers, optimum slopes and tours for cross-country skiers and ski tourers, along with an expansive area for children makes skiing in Galtür in the Tyrol Alps an unforgettable experience.
Holiday-makers will find detailed information about the individual sectors in the Silvapark at the pistes & ski facilities. Silvapark Galtür is a unique winter sports concept. Six sectors provide the best conditions for skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing.
The ski area of Galtür in the Tyrol Alps is well-known for its unique charm. The Galtür people have consciously opted against mass tourism, creating a ski area in the Alps which is natural and family-friendly. Silvapark is also in keeping with this concept. Ski pistes, snow parks, areas for children, slopes and ski tours have been divided into six sectors. Particular value is placed upon the natural surroundings and the mountains and in retaining their natural splendour.
The ‘Zwergerlwelt’ and ‘Abenteuerland’ sectors are extras for children in particular. The ‘Actionpark’ is geared towards teenagers and sports-oriented adults; while in ‘Heldenbereich’ expert freestylers and freeriders are very well looked after. ‘Pistenparadies’ provides the best conditions for Alpine skiing and snowboard races, while in the ‘High & Nordic’ sector, ski tours into the high mountains as well as numerous cross-country slopes are on offer. Thanks to this versatility this ski area in Tirol has something to suit everyone.
Après-ski comes from the French for “After Skiing” but is now used universally and refers to the socializing that is popular after a days skiing ends. When the sun goes down is when the ski resorts come alive and enjoying a steaming mug of hot Chocolate laced with rum or a glass of hot Gluhwein whilst watching the sunset over the snow covered mountain peaks is a memory which will last a life-time.
