Alpbach – Skiing in Austrias Most Beautiful Resort
The Alpbachtal skiing area is known for its varied range of skiing slopes. As well as 3 great valley runs the skiing area is also home to choice free ride possibilities towards Inneralpbach. Standing at the Hornlift 2000 (the highest point of the skiing area) take in the amazing vistas over the Alpbach Valley peaks, the Rofan Range and the Ziller Valley. Ideal conditions for families can be found in Inneralpbach, in Reith i.A. and next to the Hornboden. Magic carpets, special children’s lifts and more provide for easy access.
The 4 km long “Family run” to Inneralpbach is classed as medium degree difficulty and is not only the longest but also the most attractive run in the Alpbachtal skiing area. The run starts at the Pöglbahn top station via route number 8 and continues on a gorgeous wide run through woods down to the valley and Inneralpbach. The uniform gradient is ideal for both relaxing turns and for improving carving skills. Those wanting to fit in one last run for the day should take the 8-seater gondola, the Pöglbahn to the middle station and enjoy one of the most beautiful slopes in the skiing area – the Galtenberg slope in Inneralpbach. A grand finale to a great days skiing!

Après-ski comes from the French for “After Skiing” but is now used universally and refers to the socializing that is popular after a days skiing ends. When the sun goes down is when the ski resorts come alive and enjoying a steaming mug of hot Chocolate laced with rum or a glass of hot Gluhwein whilst watching the sunset over the snow covered mountain peaks is a memory which will last a life-time.
