Christmas sparkling stalls, sparkling lights everywhere jewelry, the smell of freshly roasted almonds, mulled wine or punch for the kids and all framed by a beautiful historic setting, the Stuttgart Christmas Market opens its doors again.
With its more than 300-year tradition of the Stuttgart Christmas Market is one of the largest and most magnificent in Europe. Located in the heart of Baden-Württemberg state capital, the city lovingly decorated booth of the New Palace and Königsbau extends across the Charles and Schiller Square with the Old Castle and the Collegiate church to the marketplace.
Christmas goods of all kinds, from the traditional to the unusual, there is the lavishly decorated booths of around 290 dealers to buy. Christmas tree decoration, winter clothes, honey products, household goods, toys, candles, mulled wine, savoury and sweet food: Stuttgart is to find everything that makes a real Christmas market.
A real highlight is the daily concerts in the courtyard of the Old Palace, and on the steps of the Town Hall . Music groups and choirs from Stuttgart and the region contribute to the festive mood. And also for families much is required: In addition to the children’s fairy tale land on the Palace Square with many hands-on activities, such as decorating gingerbread hearts, bake cookies or rotate candles, the city government provides free child care for children between three and ten years.
