Christmas Market in the Old Town 13 -15.December 2019

Market open Friday from 14.00 to 20.00 – Saturday from 10.00 to 20.00 and the Sunday from 10.00 to 19.00

This annual event is held within the Old Town Walls and is considered to be one of the most beautiful Christmas Markets in the Pas-de-Calais region. With the cobbled streets of the Old Town and its picturesque charm, it all adds to the festive spirit of the Christmas season. Bologne’s Christmas Market features stalls displaying a wide variety of goods, there are arts and crafts, Christmas gifts, regional delicacies and local specialities such as smoked herring and Craquelin pastries. If you plan to spend a while in the area then you will be pleased to know that Boulogne boasts 1,000 shops and craftsmen; 200 restaurants and brasseries, local food produce markets twice weekly on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in the Place Dalton, a daily fish market on the Quayside Gambetta, a wonderful historic town to wander around and a bustling fisherman’s port. Over past years there have been ice sculptors, musical parades, firework displays and illuminations.

Also in the Boulogne area at Christmas you’ll find on 8th December the Défilé de la Saint Nicolas – starting from Rue Grande at 16.45 grand parade of St Nicholas, with local giants Batisse and Zabelle along Rue Nationale, Grande Rue, Rue Thiers and Rue Faidherbe to reach the port, ending with a firework display at 18.30.

You will also be pleased to note that there are around 3,600 car parking spaces, most of them free.
