Bregenz – Christmas Markets in Austria
Bregenzer Weihnachtszauber

Date : 15. November bis 23. December 2019

Christmas in Vorarlberg is traditional and family-orientated. Under the motto “Bregenzer Christmas Magic”, the city is transformed in a pre-Christmas display of lights, beautifully decorated cottages and idyllic atmosphere. The setting of Bregenz on Lake Constance (Bodensee) is an idyllic setting at any time of the year and in Advent with snow on the mountain tops and the lights twinkling on the still, clear waters of the lake it lends the town a magical air.
Two markets – one experience – The market with over 60 cabins with gift ideas and an inviting atmospheric, accompaniment for strolling, and enjoying Christmas shopping and on three weekends before Christmas the popular “Weihnachtsmärktle” in the upper town, complements the downtown market. The little Christmas village , a small stage, a “Living Nativity” and the ice skating combined with the many fine speciality shops, galleries and a wide range of events to make your visit a special experience.
Christmas Offers – Bakers bake Christmas cookies and Stollen. It’s the unique atmosphere and the flair that make the Bregenz Christmas markets known nationwide . Pleasurable life art is practised here. A comprehensive, regional cuisine and a variety of vendors dominate the Bregenz Christmas market. Who is looking for special gifts will find it here. And for the children, a varied program, a carousel, the ice skating rink and much more.
Weihnachtsmärktle in the Upper Town – The scenery is authentic and dates from the Middle Ages: The Mighty Martinsturm with its meter thick walls and vaults, in which artisans offer their products and services during Advent on the weekends, is the centre of the market. For example, children can learn, make candles, and vases are blown from pieces of glass, or from simple pieces of wood, petite figures are made. Wood is a regional material and on the market you will find bowls, drinking vessels to combs and toys. They not only look good, but are natural, and make popular gifts. Numerous choirs, live music, a Christmas tree with over 20,000 lights and many surprise events round out the program. Simply be enchanted: from Bregenz, its culture and the festive mood between mountain and sea. Bregenz is always worth a visit.
