Burg Kreuzenstein is a castle in Lower Austria, Austria. It was constructed in the 19th century by the Wilczek family. Kreuzenstein is interesting in that it was constructed out of sections of medieval structures purchased by the family from all over Europe to form an authentic-looking castle. Thus, the castle can be considered both a ‘neo-‘ and ‘original’ medieval structure. The castle is sometimes used as a location for films, most notably The Three Musketeers in 1993.
Open daily from April 1st to November 1st , the castle and its unique collection make a visit to the world of the Middle Ages an exciting firsthand experience.
