2lb piece of bacon
1/2 lb shelled broad beans
parsley and a pinch of sage
Soak the bacon overnight, drain rinse and cover with fresh water and bring to the boil and skim.Add the roughly cut potatoes and turnip and when these are nearly cooked then add the beans. Thicken with an oatmeal paste if desired and serve sprinkled with freshly chopped parsley and leeks.
