Liverpool is a city with great cultural heritage and was awarded the title of European Capital of Culture 2008, with the famous Pier Head Waterfront being a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. Liverpool is home to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and is also renowned for being the birthplace of a wide range of popular musicians including The Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Echo & the Bunnymen and many more. The city possesses the largest national museum collection outside of London and has a fascinating and turbulent history as a great world maritime centre. Liverpool is home to Europe’s oldest Chinatown. The famous Grand National Horse Race takes place in the outskirts of the city (Aintree). It is also home to two association football clubs, ie, Liverpool and Everton. Liverpool are the most successful British football club to date.

Goodison Stadium Tour

Everton Tour – Have you ever wondered just what goes on behind the scenes at Goodison Park? Have you dreamed of walking down the tunnel to the roar of 40,000 fans? Do you want to know where exactly in the dressing room your favourite players get changed or where the players relax after the game? If so, then Everton Football Club is offering you the chance to experience Goodison Park at first hand! A chance of a lifetime awaits you, as you experience the magic of our Goodison Park Stadium Tour. A warm welcome awaits all of our visitors to Goodison, particularly those with special needs, notification is required on booking, thus enabling us to cater fully for your groups needs. We hold Stadium Tours around Goodison on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 11am and 1pm. Tours do not operate on a match day or on the afternoon before a first team home fixture.Booking is strongly advised. All tours are non-smoking and last approximately one and a quarter hours. We can accommodate individuals, small parties or large groups.

Ferry Across the Mersey

Mersey Ferry – Immortalized by the hit song Ferry Cross the Mersey by Gerry & the Pacemakers, the Mersey ferries offer a fun day out and a great way to see Liverpool from afar. View the world famous waterfront in all its glory, the liver buildings, the Albert Dock, Echo Arena, Cathedrals, Liverpool Museum plus much more. The Mersey Ferry is a ferry service operating on the River Mersey in north west England, between Liverpool and the Wirral Peninsula. Ferries have been used on this route since at least the 12th century, and continue to be popular for both local people and visitors.The current fleet consists of three vessels, which were all originally from the 1960s and were named Mountwood, Woodchurch and Overchurch. All three ferries have been extensively refurbished and re-named Royal Iris of the Mersey, Snowdrop and Royal Daffodil respectively. The ferries share the workload of cross-river ferrying, charter cruises and the Manchester Ship Canal cruise. The service is managed by Merseytravel.

The bus is used daily for the scheduled tours but it is also available for private hire at other times. Beatles Story

Located in the Fab Four’s hometown of Liverpool, the award-winning Beatles Story experience is an atmospheric journey into the life, times, culture and music of the Beatles. Join us on a magical mystery tour to see how four young lads from Liverpool were propelled to the dizzy heights of worldwide fame and fortune to become the greatest band of all time. Your journey begins in the late ’50s in the unlikely surroundings of Woolton Village Fete, where Paul McCartney tells you how he first met John Lennon. Pepper album before embarking on an underwater trip in the Yellow Submarine. Then explore the break-up of the band, the role they played in the overthrow of the Soviet Union, their solo projects and the Beatles’ everlasting and moving legacy…

Visitors can then enter our new expansion areas including our ‘Going Solo’ room which investigates each of John, Paul, George and Ringo’s solo careers, our special exhibition space and our moving Imagine room; tribute to the life of John Lennon. Children and families can check out our new Discovery Zone!

Williamson Tunnels

The Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre is the only tourist attraction in Liverpool dedicated to 19th Century philanthropist Joseph Williamson. Opened in 2002 the Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre has welcomed over 100,000 visitors into the fascinating underground world created beneath the streets of the Edge Hill district of Liverpool by Joseph Williamson, a wealthy tobacco merchant who employed many hundreds of men in the construction of a huge and elaborate underground labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and passageways. Visitors to the Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre can take a guided tour through a section of the network of tunnels and view exhibits and displays which depict the life and times of one of Liverpool’s most eccentric characters.
