Rathlin Island is an ‘L’shaped island that is just six miles long and one mile wide. It is the only populated island off Ireland and is home to around 100 people. A ferry travels the 6 miles over the ‘Sea of Moyle’ to take visitors across. In thee harbour one can discover some of the exciting history of the island and learn about present day life on the island. A short walk away lies Mill Bay where there is a colony of seals which are enjoyable to observe. At the west of the island is the renowned R.S.P.B. Seabird Centre, where puffins, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes can be viewed during the summer months. There is accommodation available on the island and a pub and restaurant and gift shop.
