The winter season is from October to May in the only glacier ski area in the Bernese Oberland. Over 24 peaks with an heigth over 4000 m can be seen from the glacier. Both the Restaurant Botta 3000 and the Refuge l’Espace restaurant offer spectacular views. The ski run around the Oldensattel is one of the longest and most challenging runs in the area. The glacier itself offers a large variety of activities for its guests: winter hiking trails, cross-country skiing, a snow park, view points, dog sled rides and the highest bobsleigh track in the world – the Alpine Coaster (open April – September).
It is easy to get to the view point (stairs) located directly behind the Restaurant Botta. From there you can enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view that includes some of the most beautiful alpine peaks – from the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau to the Matterhorn – and views onto more than 24 peaks that are over 4000 m high. The view point is open daily, as long as the cable car and restaurant are open.
The specially-designed vehicle, the Snow Bus, takes guests on a ride over the glacier. It is a unique experience for all those who want to enjoy a comfortable ride on the eternal snow. The Snow Bus has room for 20 people and operates in winter only on request (subject to cable car operation and weather conditions).
The Glacier 3000 ski area includes 10 installations and 30 km of ski runs ranging from 1350 to 3000 m above sea level. It is a part of the ski area shared with Gstaad Mountain Rides (220 km of ski runs) and the Vaudoises Alps (225 km of ski runs) and is particularly attractive for Freestylers and Freeriders. With the 7km long Olden ski run, Glacier 3000 is able to offer one of the most challenging ski runs in the area – a challenge for any skier or snowboarder.

Thanks to optimal conditions on the Tsanfleuron Glacier (at approx. 3’000 meters), it is possible to have a cross-country skiing trail (classical and skating) here in summer. With good weather conditions, the approx. 3 km trail is groomed from June until December. This has allowed Glacier 3000 to become popular among well-known cross-country skiers and biathlon professionals, because it is one of the few places in Europe where they can train for the upcoming season.
