The sea is a stone’s throw away! The Hague is the only city by the sea in the whole of The Netherlands. The beach is less than 15 minutes from the historical city centre by tram or bike. The city boasts 7 miles of beach in its backyard and is worth visiting in all four seasons. Visit in the early spring, when the first beach pavilions unfold their deckchairs and the spring sunshine touches your skin. Or on a summer day paddle or build giant sand castles on the beach. Alternatively, watch the sun disappear into the sea with your feet in the sand. On the boulevard, the choice is wide: a visit to an attraction, or a glass of wine on a terrace and eating fish in the harbour in the evening. The beach is perfect for a range of beach sports, from kiting to surfing.
