The Stelvio Pass with its 48 hairpin bends, at 2757m or 9045ft, is located in Italy in the Ortler Alps and is the highest road mountain pass in the eastern Alps. Above the pass is the “Dreisprachenspitz” or “Three language peak”, its named as this is where the German, Italian and Romansh languages meet. Valtellina is connected to Meran and the upper Adige valley using the pass. Their is also a large skiing area adjacent to the pass. Stelvio Pass is 47m from Bolzano and 200 mile from the Swiss Border.
