Amalfi – The town of Amalfi is the heart of this beautiful coastline and sits at the foot of Monte Cerreto. Well known for growing its huge, sweet lemons, Amalfi is famous for producing Limoncello liqueur. Although the town is quite small there is plenty to see and do, wander along the narrow alleyways and browse in the many shops offering Amalfitana specialities before relaxing at one of the cafes with a coffee and tasty pastry, stroll along the waterfront and watch the fishermen preparing their nets, for the more energetic there are walks up the valley through the lemon groves. Look out for:- 9th Century Cathedral of Saint Andrew sitting imposingly at the top of a large set of steps overlooking the Piazza Duomo , Arsenal of the Maritime Republic (Gli Arsenali della Repubblica), Museum of Handmade Paper (Museo della Carta), The Cloister of Paradise next to the Cathedral, take a one-hour boat excursion to the The Emerald Grotto (La Grotta dello Smeraldo)
