Galleria Doria Pamphilj, Rome
The Doria Pamphilj gallery is situated inside the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj which is still pivately owned by the family Doria Pamphilj. The gallery houses a large art collection which has been amassed over a period of 500 years. The gallery is situated in the Via del Corso, Rome, adjacent to the church of Santa Maria in Via Lata. In the four wings which look onto the internal courtyard with its splendid Renaissance arches is where the majority of the art collection is housed. The art collection is unique not only in its quality, but also for its quantity, the painting cover all the walls of the apartments. Amongst the collection are painting by Italian artist such as Caravagio, Tiziano and Raffaello as well as paintings from the Flemish Old Masters from the Baroque era.
