Sibelius Museum, Turku, Finland

The only museum dedicated exclusively to music in Finland, is named after Jean Sibelius. The museum building itself, a beautiful piece of modernist architecture, exhibits the life and music of the master composer as well as a collection of instruments from Finland and abroad. A selection taken from the 1.950 instruments of traditional and art music from all around the globe is exhibited. One room is naturally reserved for Sibelius´s life and work. During the autumn, winter, and spring seasons the museum hosts chamber music concerts on Wednesday evenings. The collections available at the Sibelius museum are of interest to both experts and ordinary music lovers.
