Take a selection of your favourite fruits and peel and chop any that need to be done. Place them all in a large bowl and sprinkle with fresh lemon juice to prevent from turning brown. Sprinkle generously with Amaretto liqueur. In a saucepan boil some water and sugar to form a syrup, whilst this is still hot pour over the fruit. Stir well, cover and set aside to cool. Serve with mascarpone or creme frâiche.
