With only three weeks left to go until Christmas and a whole load of work still to be done wrapping presents, putting up decorations, buying a tree and general cleaning and tidying, what better thing to do than go away in the motorhome for ten days and escape! Seems like a good idea (I think).
Our first day is spent crawling through traffic in the UK just to get to Dover. Two hours sleep on the ferry to Dunkirk and arrive early hours in France. Here the traffic is sparse, the weather is dry and so putting a few miles behind us before the rush-hour starts is a good idea. We manage 180 before the need for sleep kicks in, and the flasks of coffee run out. We are just short of the Belgium/German border at Lichtenbusch.
