Recent trip to Harburg Castle

I recently visited the German castle of Harburg. It was a wonderful day out. We were very lucky as it was really quiet when we were there. We signed up for a tour of the castle, and it was only us on it. The lady took us round, spent more time than normal showing us the sights of the castle and explaining it all. The prison would have been a scary place to be. Other rooms have been added to the 12th century castle, one being the very large events room, which can be hired out. It would make a wonderful place to get married. The sights from the room are spectacular and the design of the room is amazing.

I would certainly recommend Harburg Castle. There is parking outside, plus it is on the Romantic road, so there are plenty of motorhome stops or wonderful places to stay.  I have shared a few photos on here, however if you would like to see more, just pop on over to my flickr page to browse through them all
