Do you travel in winter?

Winter and your motorhome

With winter fast approaching and the cold, darker long nights upon us, it got me thinking about how people use their motorhomes over the winter months. I have a friend….more than one I hope, but a particular friend who has spent the last six months converting his own motorhome out of a Fiat Ducato. He has everything in it, bathroom, heating, double bed, oven fridge etc. but now it is winter he has covered it up for the winter. We spoke about it and he isn’t a “winter person” however I was wondering if it a common thing to do this.

Myself, I can’t wait to get away in my van, Christmas markets and ski resorts. I find the winter offers fantastic opportunities to travel. Some of my most memorable trips have been in the winter, including the scariest….reversing a large American motorhome down a small track of ice in Luxembourg, however extremely memorable.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Do you use your motorhome over the winter and I f so, do you travel to the snow covered mountains, or do you escape to the sun of Spain for example, or are you like my friend and pack it away until the spring.
